"The Laramie Project" Returns to NYC after almost 10 years

ABC 7 GOOD MORNING WASHINGTON

In July of 2017 The Wandering Theatre Company & our production of The Laramie Project was featured on GOOD MORNING WASHINGTON in a segment about the Capital Fringe Festival. We were the only company featured out of the 88 shows performing that year!

The Laramie Project Cycle, 2018

"A bold, fresh take on the classic original play cycle..."

"The monumental undertaking of The Laramie Cycle by this young and dedicated company of players takes your breath away. What takes your breath away is how committed this company is to performing this work of art because they believe in the material and what performing it will do for all of us as a community of artists."

"The sensitive and superb direction by Natalie Villamonte Zito was very smartly executed, placing us right where we needed to be to grasp the enormity of this tragic play."

The Trial of Mrs. Surratt, 2016

"The Trial of Mrs. Surratt has many moving pieces and director Natalie Zito has planned an ambitious performance...The blocking and attention to detail throughout the performance is just delicious."

The Trial of Mrs. Surratt, 2016

"The Trial of Mrs. Surratt is a solid production that gives new life to an important piece of American history. The themes of injustice, abuse of power, and what it means to be loyal to your country are as relevant today as they were in 1865."

"A transcendent twist to Lanie Robertson's classic, The Wandering Theatre Company's 'The Insanity of Mary Girard' boasts powerfully convincing performances — the cast successfully captures the horrors of realizing one's own descent into madness."

The Insanity of Mary Girard, 2015

"A hauntingly beautiful performance relies heavily on whether or not audience members go home actually feeling, well, haunted. And on that front, Zito has emerged victorious."

"Director Natalie Villamonte Zito invites viewers to explore the boundless corridors of the human mind in a way that will leave you horrified as much as you are mesmerized. Thoughtfully and eerily, Zito creates an ominous voyeuristic experience. We are watching the world of a woman unraveling in front of our eyes, and we can almost see ourselves in her predicament."

Our Artistic Director, Natalie Villamonte Zito, being interviewed on Let's Talk Live about our 2015 production of "The Insanity of Mary Girard" by Lanie Robertson.

"The Insanity of Mary Girard was fully entertaining, creepy, and wonderful...I wouldn't miss this one, folks!"

The Insanity of Mary Girard, 2015

"The absolute unblinking purity of the emotion this show conveys is in and of itself art. Had this been comedy, you would be helpless with laughter. Because it is what it is, you will be weak with fear."

The Insanity of Mary Girard, 2015

Jean Anouilh's Antigone, 2014

"The Wandering Theatre Company’s Antigone, a refreshing and visually stunning reinterpretation of the classic Greek tragedy...The show remained consistently dynamic, engaging, and entertaining...The result was a stage picture that was interesting, sculptural, and chock full of gorgeous tableaus. Several moments of particularly heightened emotion are complemented by highly stylized vignettes composed of movement and light. Wandering Theatre Company’s fresh new production deserves your attention."

"Writer/Director Natalie Villamonte Zito conjures moments of brilliance through stage picture and ensemble movement (I will forever have nightmares about the contorted “possessed” girls in one sequence). Her Stoppard-esque script seamlessly blends contemporary and Puritan-era action."

The Afflicted, 2013

"The Afflicted cracks open the circumstances and motives that drove a community of people to take seemingly incomprehensible actions... It physically captures how characters live beyond the pages that describe their lives..."

The Afflicted, 2013
