A New Play with Music by Broadway Playwright Lanie Robertson


Charged with conspiring against Abraham Lincoln in 1865, Mary Surratt was the first women executed by the federal government. In this surreal historical exploration of the Lincoln conspirators, time and space are used to expose other elements of Mary's story. This play challenges audiences to examine this tale of American history from the perspective of its most misunderstood historical figures. Based on actual dinner table conversations, federal trials and journal entries, this piece explores 1865 post-Civil War America in a way most have never imagined.
